Html Viewer 3

Html Viewer 3 (hv3) is a fairly functional web browser that remains extremely minimalist (3.2 MB in size). Hv3 uses the Tkhtml engine and SEE (Simple ECMAScript Engine) for JavaScript. It is written entirely in Tcl/Tk.

The program is cross-platform and published under the GNU GPL free license. The browser completely passes the Acid2 test.

Use

On first startup, the browser prompts you to install hv3_polipo,[1] a small webcache that is optional but speeds things up by ≈25%.

Browser features include a tree view pane of the original HTML text, and a hidden menu mode which allows you to maximize the space available for displaying the web page. You can access them from the context menu, which appears when you right-click on the mouse.

Searching by page and on the web, through search engines is available through the corresponding menu item, the search bar is located in the lower part of the application window, above the status bar.
