Herman E. Talmadge Jr.

Herman Eugene "Gene" Talmadge Jr. (December 15, 1942 – November 24, 2014) was the son of former United States Senator Herman Talmadge and the grandson of former Governor of Georgia Eugene Talmadge. Born in Lovejoy, Georgia, he graduated from the Georgia Military Academy and married Rhett Quantrill Talmadge.[1] In 2004, he served a 20-day sentence in prison for making death threats.[2] He died from liver cancer[3] at the age of 71 and his funeral was held on November 28, 2014.[1]

Criminal record

In 2004, Talmadge was sentenced to 20 days in prison for making death threats to court officials.[2]

Bankruptcy filing

Talmadge filed for bankruptcy on January 6, 2014. He died before he could win his case, leaving his family to continue the case. The filing was discharged on September 8, 2021.[4]
