Godby
Godby is a village in Finström, Åland. It is located at the intersection of Highway 2 and Highway 4, 17 kilometres (11 mi) north of Mariehamn. The population is about 1,300,[1][2] which make it the second largest urban area in Åland after Mariehamn.[3] A pharmacy, banks, a post office, a swimming hall and a health center are among the amenities that can be found in Godby, as well as the Godby högstadieskola high school.[4]

The historically significant events of the village include the Battle of Godby, which took place during the Finnish Civil War in 1918.[5] Along with the civil war, the events of Godby were connected to the Invasion of Åland during the World War I, in which Sweden and Germany were also parties.[6]
