Gateshead Central and Whickham (UK Parliament constituency)

Gateshead Central and Whickham is a proposed constituency of the House of Commons in the UK Parliament.[1] The constituency is scheduled to be created by the 2023 Periodic Review of Westminster constituencies, and will first be contested at the next general election.[2]

History

The constituency will be formed primarily from the existing Gateshead constituency, with the addition of the three wards which incorporate the community of Whickham from the (to be abolished) constituency of Blaydon.[3]
