History

FAI was founded in 1986 under the firm IFA-Flugbetriebs GmbH, in 1989 it was renamed as FAI Flight-Ambulance-Service International GmbH & Co. KG after it was sold to Axtmann Holding, later renamed FAI rent-a-jet AG. Sole shareholder today is FAI Aviation Holding GmbH. The headquarters of FAI Aviation Group are located at Albrecht-Dürer International Airport in Nuremberg, Germany. FAI is a Global Player in the General Aviation Service Sector. FAI is also an approved service provider for ICRC (International Committee of the Red Cross), WFP (World Food Programme), and other global health and aid organizations.


Business model

FAI is one of the largest operators of business jets in Europe, specialized in Air Ambulance, VIP flights, Rush Cargo and courier flights, logistics support for authorities and non-governmental organizations, as well as aircraft management incl. acquisition, sales and lease of aircraft. FAI´s workforce is counting approximately 180 employees. FAI´s 100 % subsidiary FAI Technik GmbH is an MRO which holds an EASA Part 145 Approval for Maintenance and Component Service for Business jets. FAI Technik employs more than 100 people at its bases in Nuremberg (NUE) and Berlin (BER).

Fleet

FAI operates Germany’s largest fleet of Bombardier Aircraft which utilises ca. 12,000 hours of air time per year. FAI´s fleet of 18 jet aircraft includes five Bombardier Global Express, six Bombardier Challenger 604s and seven Learjet 60. FAI runs a 14,000 m² carbon neutral FBO.
