European Journal for Philosophy of Religion
The European Journal for Philosophy of Religion (EJPR) was a quarterly, peer-reviewed academic journal of philosophy of religion.[1] As a publisher independent journal, EJPR was not primarily profit-oriented but strived to encourage high-quality discussions in philosophy of religion among scholars representing different philosophical and theological schools of thought within this field of research. Originally founded by the Polish philosopher Janusz Salamon in 2009 to promote particularly discussions in the philosophy of religion in Europe, it was transferred to Austria (Innsbruck) in 2017 and developed into an internationally highly respected journal. Georg Gasser (now Augsburg University, Germany) served as main editor with T. Ryan Byerly (University of Sheffield) as Reviews Editor from 2017-2022. To ensure the journal's continued existence, it has been transferred to a publisher in Asia in 2022. This led to some drastic changes: The focus on philosophy of religion has no longer been maintained and an expensive pay-to-publish scheme has been introduced. Therefore, it can no longer be considered to be a non-profit oriented journal devoted to systematic questions in philosophy of religion.
