History

The E-Safety Bill assumes the functions and authority of existing entities such as the Federal Investigation Agency (FIA), Pakistan Telecommunication Authority (PTA) and the Pakistan Electronic Media Regulatory Authority (PEMRA). This authority primarily focuses on tasks like registering and supervising all websites, web channels, and YouTube channels. Additionally, it will be vested with the capability to block and levy fines on websites involved in spreading false information.[4][5][6]
