Dhirubhai Ambani Green Energy Giga Complex

The Dhirubhai Ambani Green Energy Giga Complex (also known as Jamnagar Green Energy Giga Complex)[1][2][3][4] is a mega project being developed by Reliance Industries in Jamnagar, Gujarat, India. This is a fully integrated renewable energy manufacturing complex that will build gigafactories for photovoltaic panels, energy storage, green hydrogen, electrolyzers and fuel cells systems.[5][6] The complex is being built on a 5,000 acres (20 km2; 7.8 sq mi) site and is expected to cost ₹75,000 crores (US$10 billion).[7] The first phase of the project, which includes the construction of a 20 GW solar photovoltaic module factory, is expected to be completed by 2023, 5 GWh annual cell to pack manufacturing facility by 2024, and further scale up to 50 GWh & 100 GWh annual capacity by 2027 & 2030.[8][9][10] It is one of the largest renewable energy projects in the world. It is expected to play a major role in India's transition to a clean energy future.[11]

History

In the 44th annual general meeting (AGM), which was held on 24 June 2021, Mukesh Ambani made several significant announcements during his speech new energy sector and were intended to hasten the transition to a new era of clean, green, and renewable energy. Jamnagar, a city in Gujarat, served as the foundation for our previous energy industry.[12] Jamnagar will also serve as the foundation for Ambani's new materials and energy businesses On 5,000 acres in Jamnagar, Reliance has begun construction on the Dhirubhai Ambani Green Energy Giga Complex.[13][14]
