Cooke Inc. (also known as Cooke Seafood or Cooke Aquaculture Inc) is a seafood company based in Blacks Harbour, New Brunswick, Canada. Started in 1985, the family-run company operates many vessels and processing facilities under multiple brand names internationally. Outside of its origin business in New Brunswick, the company has run salmon aquaculture operations in Maine, Washington state, Chile, and Scotland. Since its formation, Cooke Inc. has made approximately 100 acquisitions and employs 9,000 people as of 2018.[1]

In November 2022, Cooke acquired Australian salmon aquaculture company Tassal for $1.5 billion.[2]

History

Cooke Inc. was established in 1985 by Gifford Cooke and his two sons Glenn and Michael,[3] whom of which started with farming 5,000 salmon in a pen.[4]
