March to Sochi
Although the Red Army regrouped and mobilized their forces near Khostinsky City District, Giorgi Mazniashvili decided to launch an attack with a 6,000-strong unit. In the first stage of the operation, the attack was launched by the floating means of Georgia. "St. "Mikhail" opened fire on the enemy's artillery battery, which consisted of 5 long-range cannons, and disabled several of them. After that, Valodia Goguadze's armored train was involved in the attack. The Russian army retreated disorganized from one settlement to another. After a short attack, the leading detachment of the Georgian army took Sochi. Mazniashvili introduced a small garrison in the city equipped only with police functions. He camped outside the city with the main forces. The population of Sochi greeted the entry of the Georgian army with joy.[3]
