Writing and publication
Writer Michael Barron volunteered to be the first to review a manuscript version of Brother Alive.[1] Barron was "struck by Khalid's raw talent" and referred to reading the manuscript as "like hearing the demo tape of a track that would go on to be a banger".[1]
Accolades
Khalid won the Young Lions Fiction Award for the novel.[2][3]
