In February 2023, it was announced that Rialto Distribution acquired Australian/New Zealand distribution rights to the film whereas Myriad Pictures acquired North American distribution rights.[3] It was also announced that same month that the film was in post-production.[4]

Evans' screenplay was inspired by the death scene of Nicky Santoro (played by Joe Pesci) in the Martin Scorsese film Casino (1995).[2][4]

The film will be released in theaters in Australia on November 2, 2023.[5]
