Boris Baranov

Boris Aleksandrovich Baranov (Russian: Борис Александрович Баранов, Ukrainian: Борис Олександрович Баранов; 11 November 1940 — 6 April 2005) was an engineer who worked at the Chernobyl Nuclear Power Plant. After the disaster, he was one of the three men in the "suicide squad" team to drain the steam suppression pools under the fourth reactor building. In 2019 he was posthumously awarded the title Hero of Ukraine.[1][2][3]
