Battle of Askerani River (1805)
The Battle of Askerani River (1805) was a battle between the Russians and the Persians. The goal of the Persians was to conquer Tbilisi, but they did not succeed. During the Battle of Askerani River, the Persian Army was defeated and Tbilisi was defended from conquest.[1] The Persian leader at the time was Fath-Ali Shah Qajar.[2]
