History

Aviana was founded in Gothenburg in 2016 by Marcus Vik, Marcus Heffler, Oscar Forsman, Sebastian Colque and Niclas Bergström. The band released their first album Polarize in early 2017. At the end of that year, vocalist Marcus Vik left the band and was replaced by Joel Holmqvist. In 2019, the band signed with German label Arising Empire, through which the second album Epicenter was released in 2019. After the release of the album, all musicians left the band except for Joel Holmqvist, so Holmqvist temporarily continued Aviana as a solo project.

In March 2022, the EP Tanscendent was released, which consisted of six songs that were re-released on the following album Corporation. Corporation also included a song that was created in collaboration with former frontman Marcus Vik.

A new line-up consisting of a new guitarist, bassist and drummer was able to come together. The identities of the three newly added musicians are currently not known. At several live performances by the band in 2022, they were dressed exclusively in black and performed with masks.[3][4][5][6]
