Atlantis Adventure

Atlantis Adventure (Korean: 아트란티스) is an Intamin steel roller coaster at Lotte World that started construction around 2000 and opened in 2003.[1][2] It is the only known Aqua Trax roller coaster in the world. Atlantis Adventure is the eighth longest and third steepest roller coaster in South Korea.

History

Construction of the rollercoaster began around 2000. Atlantis Adventure took around 35 billion won to construct.[3]

Layout

When the train leaves the station, the train is first launched by a linear motor. [4]

Trains

Atlantis Adventure has three single-car trains, where riders are arranged in 2 seats across 4 rows, thus allowing 8 people to be seated per car. [5]

Track

Atlantis Adventure utilizes Intamin's Aqua Trax system, which features interactive water elements such as water bombs and water jets. Furthermore, Atlantis Adventure is the only Intamin Aqua Trax coaster in the world. [6] Atlantis Adventure is 72.2ft tall and has 2,198.1 ft of track in total, and it has a vertical angle of 72 degrees. [7] It is the eighth longest [8] and third steepest [9] roller coaster in South Korea.

Theme

Atlantis Adventure is themed around an explorer's voyage towards the lost city of Atlantis. Thus, there is a jungle setup with a waterfall as well as statues of mythical creatures throughout the ride. [10]
