Roman Catholic Archdiocese of Nagasaki
The Archdiocese of Nagasaki (Latin: Archidioecesis Nagasakiensis, Japanese: カトリック長崎大司教区) is a Latin Church archdiocese of the Catholic Church located in the city of Nagasaki in Japan.

History
    

The Basilica of the Twenty-Six Holy Martyrs of Japan. It also functions as a co-cathedral.
- May 22, 1876: Established as Apostolic Vicariate of Southern Japan from the Apostolic Vicariate of Japan
 - June 15, 1891: Promoted as Diocese of Nagasaki
 - May 4, 1959: Promoted as Metropolitan Archdiocese of Nagasaki
 - August 9, 1945: The Immaculate Conception Cathedral was destroyed by the second atomic bomb that was dropped over Japan. Many Catholics of Nagasaki died that day inside the church.
