Adamu Ibrahim Lamuwa
Adamu Ibrahim Lamuwa is a Nigerian diplomat who currently serves as the permanent secretary of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs in Nigeria. He was appointed to this position by President Bola Ahmed Tinubu in May 2023.

Early life and education
Lamuwa was born in Funakaye local government area of Gombe State, Nigeria in 1967. He completed his education at Magaba Primary School and Government Secondary School, Nafada, where he obtained his WASC/WAEC certificate. He went on to earn a Bachelor of Science degree in Economics from the University of Maiduguri in 1991 and a master's degree in Economic Policy and Management from the United Nations Institute for African Economic Development and Planning in 2009.[1][2]
Career
Lamuwa joined the Nigerian Foreign Service in January 1993 and has since served in various departments of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs in Abuja. He has also held positions in Nigerian missions abroad, including the Consulate General of Nigeria in Hong Kong, the Nigerian High Commission in Ottawa, Canada, and the Consulate General of Nigeria in Jeddah, Saudi Arabia. During his tenure in Senegal, he was honoured with the Commander, National Order of the Lion, which is the highest Senegalese national honour. Lamuwa has also served in various capacities at the State House, Presidential Villa, including as a special assistant and deputy director of State House Protocol. From June 2016 to May 2021, he served as the Charge d' Affaires at the Embassy of the Federal Republic of Nigeria in Damascus, Syria, and he was later appointed as the Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary to the Republic of Senegal with concurrent accreditation to the Islamic Republic of Mauritania.[3][4][5]
