2023 Smederevo explosion
The 2023 Smederevo explosion took place on 31 August 2023 in Smederevo, Serbia. Explosion occurred in the one of the residential buildings that surrounds Karađorđe's Mulberry Square, one of the main town squares. It caused damages in at least twenty apartments and parts of broken glass to be blown out on the busy town square and surrounding streets. After the explosion fire also broke out in the building. Media initially reported that explosion was caused by the liquid gas tank on the fourth floor. Morning after the explosion it was also speculated that explosion was caused by the bomb that was thrown by one person who got killed in the process, though authorities are still to confirm it.[1] It was reported that explosion was heard up to 10 kilometers away, on the outskirts of the town. After the explosion parts of city center were closed to the public because of the investigation.[2] According to authorities, two persons were hospitalized and one was killed.[3]

Casualties
According to initial reports by local police two persons, brother and a sister, were hospitalized for injuries, and one person was killed.[3]
