2023 Pittsburgh standoff and shooting
On August 23, 2023, a 63-year-old man allegedly opened fire on Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania law enforcement officers after being forced out of his place of residence due to eviction. Allegedly over a hundred rounds were fired between the alleged shooter, William Hardison, and multiple officers in the city's Garfield neighborhood. The standoff lasted several hours and Hardison would eventually be shot dead by police.[1] The shooting started at 11 a.m. and ended at around 5 p.m.[2] Over 70 cops are suspended over the incident, pending investigation by higher authorities.
Hardison allegedly has links to the Moorish Science Temple of America, a sovereign citizen movement.
