2014 Bangladesh blackout

The 2014 Bangladesh blackout was a power outage that occurred across Bangladesh on November 1, 2014.[1] The blackout lasted وأربعة عشرfor almost 12 hours.[2][3]

Cause

According to reports, the blackout began after a technical glitch in the transmission line distributing power from India.[4][5][6]

Areas affected

Due to the blackout, electricity was cut in the capital city Dhaka as well as other big cities.[7]

Impact

Shops were forced to close and due to no electricity, hospitals had to use generators but the patients still had to face difficulties as some of the equipment needed for the tests stopped working.[8] Food in homes also spoiled due to powerless refrigerators.[9]
