The 1983 Kano State gubernatorial election occurred on August 13, 1983.[1][2][3][4][5][6][7][8][9][10] People's Redemption Party (PRP) candidate Sabo Bakin Zuwo won the election, defeating Nigerian People's Party (NPP) Abubakar Rimi.[11][12][13][14][15][16][17][18][19][20]
