The location of Illinois
The State of Illinois is a state of the United States of America, the 21st to be admitted to the Union. Illinois is the most populous and demographically diverse Midwestern state and the fifth most populous in the nation. Illinois is bordered to the Northeast by Lake Michigan, to the east by Indiana, to the north by Wisconsin, to the west by Missouri and Iowa and to the south by Kentucky.
