Candela corporation (http://www.candelalaser.com/) was founded in 1970 and produce and sell laser systems. Their current lineup of laser systems include the GentleLASE® for hair removal, C-beam™ for psoriasis, Smooth beam™ for acne scars and wrinkles and the Vbeam® for vascular lesions (including rosacea). Candela have recently announced a distribution agreement with Danish Dermatologic Development to sell Intense Pulsed Light (IPL) machines in the U.S.
Vbeam®
The Vbeam® is a pulsed dye 595nm laser and is commonly used for treating rosacea. The Vbeam features an integrated Dynamic Cooling Device™ that sprays the top layer of skin with cryogen milliseconds before each laser pulse. This reduces purpura normally associated with laser treatments.

Danish Dermatologic Development A/S (DDD) (http://www.ellipse.org) manufacturer and sell Intense Pulsed Light (IPL) machines. They developed Dual Mode Filtering, a method of using two filters to filter out wavelengths both shorter and longer than the optimal range. DDD entered into an agreement with Candela corporation where Candela will distribute the Ellipse systems in the U.S.
Ellipse Light
The Ellipse Light is designed for beauticians and is used for the treatment of unwanted hair or sun-damaged skin (including diffuse redness). The Ellipse Light calculates the treatment parameters automatically using information about your skin inputted by the machine operator.
Ellipse Flex
The Ellipse Flex is designed for physicians and treats a larger number of conditions including facial telangiectasias, vascular malformations and rosacea.
Laserscope
Laserscope (http://www.laserscope.com/) are a US based company that manufacturer and sell medical laser systems primarily for urology and aesthetic surgery.

EsteLux
During 2001, Palomar received United States Food and Drug Administration (FDA) clearance to market and sell the Palomar EsteLux Pulsed Light System. In 2002, and 2003, the Company offered six hand pieces for the EsteLux system: LuxY, LuxG, LuxR, LuxRs, LuxB and LuxV. These hand pieces emit pulses of intense light to treat unwanted hair, solar lentigo (sunspots), rosacea, actinic bronzing, spider veins, birthmarks, telangiectasias and acne.
MediLux
In March 2003, the Company launched the Palomar MediLux Pulsed Light System with the six hand pieces also available on the EsteLux. The MediLux provides a snap-on connector enabling it to switch among hand pieces and provide treatments tailored to each individual being treated.
StarLux
In February 2004, Palomar launched the StarLux Pulsed Light System. The StarLux has a single power supply capable of operating both lasers and lamps. The StarLux operates five of the EsteLux/MediLux hand pieces: LuxY, LuxG, LuxR, LuxRs, and LuxV.
StarLux 500
In February 2007, Palomar launched the StarLux 500 Laser and Pulsed Light System, and began shipping in March 2007.
