Common adverbs in Portuguese

Adverbs are words which modify the meaning of a verb (a word which expresses an action, or something which happens). Most adverbs in Portuguese end in mente - the notable exception being bem, which means "well". Be careful not to confuse this with "bom", which means "good".


Well - Bem

Badly - Mal

Slowly - Lentamente

Quickly - Rapidamente

Awkwardly - Desajeitadamente

Unfortunately - Infelizmente
