Laws of Nature

Central to the study of physics is the notion that the natural world is, at some level, regular and consistent. In other words, that there are certain 'laws of nature' which govern events, but which may not be immediately obvious. Much of physics is devoted to revealing these laws, and then using these laws to predict other events.
