Original description (Latin)

Apothecia gregaria, cortici primitus globosa-clauso innata, eum protuberantia, dein laciniatim perrumpentia, excipulo proprio, extus albide farinaceo, demum in laciniis 4-6 dirrupto discum planum, orbicularem, violaceo-nigrum, 1-2 mm latum denudantia, crassa fusca. Asci clavati, apice rotundati, —150 ↔ 15-18 µ, 8-spori, J—. Sporae oblongo-ellipsoideae, utrinque obtusae, rectae, 1-cellulares, 2-guttulatae, hyalinae, 18-20 ↔ 8-9 µ, 1-2 stichae. Paraphyses filiformes, septatae, 1,5 µ —versus apicem— 8 µ latae ibique violaceo-fuscae, Epithecium crassum formantes. Hypothecium dilute fuscidulum.
