Writing Numbers
Numbers in Niw englisc are written together, as in modern German. For example:
- 256 = twahundsixandfeiftiȝ
The exception here is when writing basic numbers, such as two hundred, in which case the numbers are most often written separately:
- 200 = twa hundred
- 500 = feif hundred
Fractions
Fractions are written using the ordinals with an -el suffix, as in German.
- 2/3 = tweȝn þriddel
- 8/13 = eaht þrietienþel
