The 3D Workspace Manager is a compositing window manager developed as an open source project at Chalmers University Media Laboratory in Sweden by Niklas Elmqvist and Robert Karlsson. 3D Workspace Manager acts as a platform for the research and development of future three dimensional user interfaces and interfaces with X11 to provide necessary backwards compatibility with legacy applications.
