A bottle of Tabasco sauce

Tabasco sauce is a tangy hot sauce made from tabasco chili peppers, vinegar and salt, then aged in wine barrels. It has been made by the McIlhenny Company of Lousiana, USA, since 1868.

Since "Tabasco" is a trademarked name, similar sauces made by other companies are known as "Louisiana hot sauce".
