Snoek are elongated, somewhat compressed fish that has a predominantly silver body colour. Snoek is related to the barracuda family. They reach a maximum length of 1.5m and approximately 9kg in weight. They have large jaws and ferocious teeth. The body is covered in small scales. Snoek, a local delicacy, is enjoyed fresh, smoked or dried.
