Ramen is a Japanese dish with roots in China. ("Ramen" is the Japanese pronunciation of La Mian (拉麺), "pulled noodles".) They are usually served in broth, as a soup.
A simple chicken soup can be had by using chicken broth instead of water, adding some cooked chicken, and adding a few vegetables.
