Yield: 6 quarts
Ingredients
- 2 lbs lean (80/20) ground beef
- 1 Lg onion
- 3 12oz. cans stewed tomatoes
- 2 8oz. cans corn
- 1 8oz. can peas
- 6 large chopped stalks celery
- 6 large potatoes cubed
- 1 8oz. can beef broth
- 1 8oz. can chicken broth
- 1 cup white rice
- 2 tbsp salt
- 2 tbsp pepper
- water (add enough to bring level up to 1 inch from top of stockpot... usually about 2 cups)
- (add pasta if desired)
Procedure
- Brown hamburger with onions (until onions are transparent)
- add remaining ingredients to a large stockpot
- place in 325 degree oven and cook for 6 hours
- if pasta is used, add after taken from the oven
