Ghavoot (قاووت) or Ghovvatoo (قووتو) is a nutritionally-dense recipe made by powdered seeds, nuts, and sugar. There are several versions, depending on the components chosen, and their portion.
It is a traditional souvenir of Kerman, Iran.
Ingredients
- Coffee beans
- Cinnamon
- Seasame
- Cottonseeds
- Black seeds
- Poppy seeds
- Chickpeas
- Walnut
- Almond
- Pistachio nuts
- Unnamed others...
Preparation
- Grind and roast each component
- Add sugar at equal weight; grind
- Serve as powder, or blend it with milk or hot water
Tips
- Ghavoot is a traditional energizer. We suggest you to consume it as a pre-workout snack. One study supports ghavoot's ergogenic effect.
