A cornstarch slurry is a mixture of a cold liquid with cornstarch. It is used as a thickening agent, and is particularly common in Asian sauces.
A typical cornstarch slurry will consist of 2 parts cold water and 1 part cornstarch. The slurry can then be added slowly to hot sauces until the desired consistency is reached.
Ingredients
- 1 tablespoon cornstarch
- 2 tablespoons cold water
Procedure
- Pour the cornstarch in a cup. Add water. Mix thoroughly with a fork. Re-mix as needed.
